How Parallel assessments work
Licensed psychologists work with students through a series of cognitive, achievement and social-emotional assessments uncovering what impacts the student’s ability to learn, helps them become the best versions of themself, and assists in acquiring the accommodations they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
Working with Parallel ensures your timely access to a certified school psychologist and ongoing clinical support. Your Parallel team will meet with you to develop clinical procedures for conducting evaluations to ensure that your school team has everything they need to best support students. Parallel school psychologists can work with you to develop assessment plans for students in need, and they can jump in to support a student after they have been referred for an evaluation.
We believe students do their best when they're comfortable and engaged. Our assessments are evidence-based and conducted by trained professionals with experience serving students of all ages in public and private schools. Parallel school psychologists will work in tandem with an onsite support person to deliver targeted evaluations of your students' challenges and strengths. Our evaluations are comprehensive and rely on gathering input from caregivers, teachers, and interventionists, in addition to existing academic data.
There is no time to waste when a child is struggling. Your Parallel school psychologist is an expert in evaluation timelines and special education eligibility requirements in your state. You'll receive an individualized psychoeducational evaluation report written with families and educators in mind. We believe learning differences can be strengths, and our school psychologist will lay the groundwork for deeply understanding the unique strengths and differences of each student.
Parallel school psychologists deliver evaluation results and guide the eligibility process as a member of the student support team. They attend eligibility/IEP meetings, collaborate with educators to develop individual education plans, and support families with any questions and concerns they may have.
Parallel school psychologists receive meaningful support as a member of a community of clinicians. This includes professional development opportunities, weekly office hours, and case consultation. An experienced Clinical Lead reviews each school psychologist's assessment approach and completed evaluation report. Our clinical team also reviews our students' testing sessions to provide quality assurance. At Parallel, our clinicians are rockstars, and we make sure they have everything they need to best serve students.
